Recipients are chosen by the Alumni Council Executive Committee and are selected based on demonstrated excellence and leadership ability as well as contributions and/or accomplishments within their respective categories listed below. Awards are presented during the Fall Awards Dinner, scheduled during Homecoming.

Academic Achievement Award
This award recognizes alumni for their distinguished academic achievement or scholarship and/or exemplary contributions to the field of education.

Alumni Award of Merit
The Award of Merit is given periodically to a graduate or friend of the College who has demonstrated unusual professional competence or standing in their community and a general concern for the betterment of mankind. 

Business Leadership Award
The Business Leadership Award is presented to an alumnus/a or friend of Saint Anselm College in recognition of outstanding leadership and achievement in his/her business field.  Special recognition may also be given to an individual who, through his/her business connections, demonstrates active concern for community service.  In addition, this award may recognize outstanding achievement as an entrepreneur.

Catholic Leadership Award
This award recognizes alumni who actively serve their church or the greater Catholic community as clergy or lay persons.

Health Service Award
The Health Service Award recognizes alumni or friends of the College for exceptional achievement in health care, research, practice, and/or health education.

Humanitarian Award
This award is presented to alumni for outstanding service to their community who have  significantly contributed to the betterment of society. Special recognition may also be given to an individual who has given in a unique way to help a fellow member of the Saint Anselm community.

John A. Houghton '49 Alumni Council Award
This award is given to a former or present member of the Alumni Council, who has been dedicated to sustaining and nurturing the activities of the Alumni Association.

John F. Barry '40 Spirit of Saint Anselm College Award
This award is given to an alumnus/a whose personal and professional life embodies the enthusiasm and spirit of the Saint Anselm College community.

Joseph P. Collins '34 Meritorious Service Award
The Joseph P. Collins Meritorious Service Award is presented to a graduate who has given extraordinary service to the College through sustained activity that promotes the advancement and standing of the Alumni Association and the College. Justice Award
This award is given to alumni who have made a significant contribution to further justice either in the legal profession or law enforcement field.

Parents Award
With this award, the Alumni Association recognizes parents or relatives who have made extraordinary sacrifices for their children or relatives to receive a liberal arts education at Saint Anselm College.

Walter J. Gallo '58 Award
Through the Walter J. Gallo '58 Award, the Alumni Association recognizes a member of the Saint Anselm College faculty or staff for dedication and service to both the Alumni Association and the College.
