2009 Alumni Award Recipients Announced
Saint Anselm is proud to announce the 2009 recipients of the college's annual Alumni Awards. These awards are presented to graduates in recognition of outstanding achievement or contributions to the college or in their chosen field. The recipients are nominated by alumni and then chosen by the Alumni Council Executive Committee.
Robert E. Allard, O.D. '68 is posthumously receiving the Health Services Award for his distinguished medical career in optometry and for his service in the community.
Former English professor and executive vice president, Dr. Denise Askin, is receiving the Walter Gallo '58 Award for extraordinary commitment to college as a teacher, mentor, and administrator.
Richard T. Bergeron '58 has been chosen for the Alumni Award of Merit for his success as a small business owner along with his commitment to his community.
The Academic Achievement Award is being presented to Rodney M. Camire, Ph.D. '94 dur to his significant contributions to science and medicine through his research.
Captain Jillian M. Duchesne, R.N. '00 is receiving the Young Alumni Service Award. She is being recognized for her service and dedication to our country and for the exceptional health care she provides to injured soldiers.
Joseph F. Jean '53 is being presented with the John F. Barry Spirit of Saint Anselm College Award for his enthusiasm and support of his alma mater.
Richard J. Meelia '71 and Judy Meelia are receiving the Humanitarian Award for dedicating their lives to serving others and giving back to the community including their commitment to the Meelia Center for Community Service.
The Business Leadership Award will be presented to Matthew J. Szulik '78 for his entrepreneurship in the global technology industry and for his service to his community.

Saint Anselm Welcomed Back More Than 700 Alumni for Reunion Weekend

College Awarded 350,000 Grant for Women in Sciences

Campus Under Construction

Sisters of Saint Joan of Arc Return to Quebec
On a sunny morning in early May, the three remaining Sisters of Saint Joan of Arc left the college to return to their order's motherhouse in Quebec. Their departure marked the closing of an 80-year chapter in the college's history.

Father Jonathan DeFelice, O.S.B., president of the college, dedicated a research center at the NHIOP in honor of the late Sen. Thomas J. Dodd, a 1926 graduate of Saint Anselm College’s preparatory school and 1964 honorary degree recipient.
New Emergency Notification System
Donald Davidson '76, director of safety and security, announced Tuesday, April 8 that by fall 2008 a new emergency notification system will be in place. The enhanced system will feature two new methods of crisis alerts.
